Adequately preserved, and less touristy than its neighbors Mallorca and Ibiza, the lesser-known Balearic island of Menorca became the perfect destination to celebrate my birthday this year.

With untouched coastlines, almost- unbelievable turquoise seas, gardens of olives and orange trees, flourishing design, and barefoot vibe, this deliciously quiet and low key slice of heaven truly took my breath away.

We settled at Can Araya, a lovely boutique hotel located in one of the most charming streets in the elegant port town of Ciutadella. The property alone is a design lover´s dream. Bathed in golden light, Room 6 was absolutely divine. Every corner feIt considered and curated in this unpretentious hideaway.

Every morning, I literally ran down the stairs to have the most amazing breakfast ever! After a day exploring the island we would have some fun in the pool, gaze across the rooftops of Ciutadella with the magnificent cathedral in the background from the terrace, or succumb to the pleasure of feeling how time stands still in the privacy of our room.
