After a trip to the Rose City of Marrakech last summer, we came back home completely transfixed by Morocco, dreaming of its perfectly imperfect beauty right after leaving. Amazed by its myriad exotic smells, sights, textures and tastes, we just had to go back!
Javi and I always look for the most luxe and divine places to stay whenever we travel. Last year, we had the pleasure of visiting the famous Riad Yasmine, Riad El Fenn and Riad Jardin Secret. This summer, we opted for a perfectly styled bohemian riad called Riad Be.
As soon as we opened the door, we fell deeply in love with its vintage vibes. Relaxed, inspiring and authentic, Riad Be is a secret oasis just minutes from the snake charmers, witchdoctors, and hustlers at Place Jemaa-el-Fna. Exploring the charming property, we discovered the boutique hotel was actually two riads connected on the rooftop.
Filled with exotic plants and boasting an amazingly beautiful decor, “The Oasis” truly feels a home away from home, while “The Essence” fascinates guests with its classical Moroccan tile work in the colors black, white, green, and mustard.
It gets quite hot in Marrakech during the summer months, so much of our time was spent in doors lounging, reading, enjoying heavenly moments on our own, just floating away in a kimono in the pool and playing with the curious kittens that are part of the riad.
As day turned to dusk and the city lights began to glow, we would head to the cacti filled terrace to indulge ourselves with some sweet, amber coloured mint tea. At night, we would nourish ourselves with a dinner spread that still makes our mouths water.
