Javi and I are constantly roaming the world for the most stylish and unique places. With a passion for Art Deco architecture and all the mid-century buildings, we couldn´t miss the opportunity to visit Hotel Tiki Tiki Tulum, a jewel at the southern end of Mexico´s Riviera Maya.
Inspired by 1950s modernist architecture, Arturo Zavala Haag´s Tiki Tiki Hotel in Tulum is a relaxed, retro-chic hideaway perfect for sophisticated travelers focused on great design that want to stay away from the crowds.
With only fifteen rooms, and surrounded by a rich, dense jungle, this exclusive luxury retreat is unquestionably the most noteworthy new hotel in Tulum town.Whether you want to hide away in your suite, lounge by the Instagram-ready pool or explore the wonderful beaches, this hotel is definitely the ultimate relaxing base.
Midcentury-Miami vibes
The central poolside area and bar is exquisitely good-looking. Our days were filled with discovering the wonders of Tulum, getting a tan, having the most amazing cocktails you can imagine, relaxing – rewind and repeat!
The hotel offers fifteen rooms and signature suites with either views to the garden, or the jaw-droppingly pretty outdoor pool. Featuring a heavenly king size bed, a small living room area, and a spacious bathroom with a Nespresso coffee machine, 0ur Garden Pool Suite was haven of stylish comfort.

Feeling hungry?
As the hotel has a very small cafe that serves simple breakfasts, we always headed to the town to join the locals at cheap and cheerful eateries in the evening. We absolutely loved Batey –Mojito & Guarapo Bar on Calle Centauro where we had the best mojitos made with freshly crushed sugar cane juice out of a colorful vintage Volkswagen Beetle.
