Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney
During our never ending flight to Sydney, all we dreamed about was getting to the five-star deluxe Shangri-La Sydney Hotel – a sumptuous retreat for those, like us, seeking the utmost in romance.
Images of having a heavenly bubble bath with unobstructed views of urban splendour or waking up to the iconic views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge were constantly in our minds. As high as our expectations were, the Shangri-La Sydney Hotel definitely surpassed them all…
Shangri-La Sydney Hotel is undeniably one of the most opulent of Sydney’s luxury hotels. Its unbeatable location in the historic Rocks district, grear design, superlative service and magnificent amenities like CHI, The Spa for the ultimate relaxation experience make the hotel an urban oasis of luxury and serenity in the world’s friendliest city.
The key appeal of this sumptuous hotel is the award winning Altitude restaurant. Floating 36 levels above the glittering harbour, the private dining room accommodates up to 18 guests. However, the exclusive New York-inspired Blue Bar is a reason enough to come to the Shangri-La on its own.
Executive Grand Harbour View Suite
After filling our days savouring local flavors and exploring the city, our Executive Grand Harbour View Suite was the perfect space to pop down and relax. The neutral colors made the suite feel warm and inviting. With large windows overlooking the entire harbour, the bedroom looked dreamy and cozy at the same time. The separate lounge room with queen size sofa bed was an ideal place to kick back with a book and a coffee.
Who could not fall in love with this bathroom? Graced with an abundance of natural light, the bathroom was absolutely beyond words. We loved to dim the lights, put on some soft music and sink into the tub in order to enjoy some well-deserved “us time”.
Trying not to miss a single moment, we would wrap ourselves in our bathrobes and drink in the view by sitting on the cushioned window seats. All of Sydney spread out right in front of our eyes.
Breakfast Time
Breakfast buffet was served at the Horizon Club Lounge, a beautifully designed space with a giant brass and crystal light feature, and of course, spellbinding views of Sydney.
What we absolutely adored about the property
- Little touches like receiving a welcome tea basket with a hot pot of brewed tea and beal ceramic cups.
- Having access to the exclusive Horizon Club Lounge with its full range of benefits and privileges such as specialty coffees, desserts and cocktails, complimentary afternoon tea, evening drinks and canapés.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi access.
